Lip-Sync Editing

The next step of our Lip Sync test was the Editing. Using Adobe premier pro (a non-linear Editing software I use on a regular basis) we were to edit our footage into the 48 seconds of Meghan Trainor's song 'All About That Bass' we had been given to work with.

We began with watching all of our footage back and then we began syncing up all our clips to the soundtrack, by layering all the clips on top of each other saved us a lot of time as all we needed to do was use the cut (shortcut c) icon to edit together the footage we believed was the highest quality.

I have never had to sync up a Lip Sync to a song before so initially, I found it quite a challenge. But as I began to edit footage in, beginning with making sure that all the clips are all linked to the music, I came up with my own method using my musicality skills, I was spot on each time which helped speed up the process quite a bit, especially as we only had one session to Edit.

With a larger time frame, I would have hoped to achieve a stronger piece of work but it did indicate to me the speed of working I should be aiming for, especially as this edit was only 48 seconds long where as our final music video will be closer to 3 minutes 30 seconds.

One personal matter I do believe I need to improve is my obsession with perfection, occasionally I spend far too much time making sure something is perfect up to my standards which I could definitely see when performing this task as my group and I only completed editing literally no more than 10 seconds before the deadline.

Considering there was no preparation, no rehearsals for this task I think we all created something very fun to watch even though hardly anyone actually knew the lyrics. This would be one thing when filming our Music Video I would make sure is absolutely perfect as it really does help determine the quality of the overall piece.
