Operation of the Camera
Together in our Production Team we recently decided to assign a role to each person so when it comes to our shoot day we will be well organised and prepared on the day. We did have the option given to us that all 4 members in our group would be given an equal opportunity to try different roles out in the production, but whilst Amr and Natasha are both more interested in the Directing of the film, Olly and I are more interested in the filming aspect of our Thriller. We have all agreed to work in pairs throughout the filming process, both taking a equal amount of time on the operating of the camera or directing.
As I have personally decided to concentrate on the operating task of the camera (filming aspect) for our Thriller 'DAMMIA', I conducted some research on different types of camera angles to learn more about how to professionally use a camera during filming. I then decided to test my newly learnt skills out last Sunday, 19th January when it snowed up here in Surrey and I decided to make a short film along with some friends. I found it extremely enjoyable to individually experiment and film, especially in the beautiful scenery around the school.
Above is the short film I filmed and edited myself in my spare time. I used the Nikon D3300 along with a tripod which I was
given for my Christmas present this year.
