Change of Idea?

Throughout our process of creating this music video we had several group disagreements of ideas about our chosen three elements. Our original pitch included the element of the paint, from this very moment numerous questions were being asked on how we were going to be able to achieve this shoot. We needed to plan thoroughly, from how we were going to throw the paint, to the environment we were going to film it in.

By using a Phantom Super Slow Motion camera it cancelled out the idea of filming outside as we were informed that with the use of using this Camera a large amount of light would be necessary to avoid any flickering and as we were already informed that paint wouldn't be allowed to be thrown around in the studio on campus we had to come up with an alternative. So the only possible solution was to hire a studio that we would be allowed to film in, but along with the expensive Tungsten lights we would require to actually film the footage, we started to look at quite an expensive bill to pay.

As our meeting with Luke and Matt came to an end they suggested we remove the entire element, this was not the news we wanted nor needed. We temporarily cut the entire element but straight after the meeting I and the others started doing some research. I researched into studios and a possible budget, I also contacted my personal contacts to hire some equipment such as lighting to get a quote, slowly but steadily I managed to see the possibility of this working. Before we knew it the project was up and running again but better and more organised than ever.

As we have gone against what our superiors have advised us this project has become very independent, and so we have to make sure we are extremely organised and prepared for the filming day.
