Filming Roles: My Roles

For my filming Role I have been allocated the production job of the Director. A film directors role is to give direction to the rest of their team, through this a director is able to communicate their vision on screen with the help of others, especially our actors/actresses. Even though on the day we will be filming as a social collaboration giving each member of the group the opportunity to try out different roles I will have the responsibility to keep the everything well organised which with the help of our Shot List should be highly beneficial and helpful.

With the skills I can already offer, especially regarding my very own personal dance background and training, I am confident I will be able to direct our three dancers professionally especially by using the correct terminology to choreograph and direct them throughout their individual shoots. Within the three styles of dance we are including; Ballet, Break Dance and Jazz/Contemporary and the slow motion effect we are striving to achieve, certain exactly precise movements are necessary to capture to complete our overall vision, and so I hope with my experience my direction on the day will be satisfactory.

"Good directors can bring certain things out of you, with their intensity or gentleness or sensitivity or understanding. They can make an actor feel he can do no wrong" - Robert De Niro

However for the Performance element of our music video instead of Directing I will be switching roles with Mejo, and so also Camera Operating during our shoot day. I am well experienced with operating cameras working with cameras such as the Sony FS7, Cannon C300's and my very own Black Magic Mini Ursa 4K. I am confident and highly excited to capture some good quality footage to help bring together our entire music video especially later when in the editing suit.
