Pitch Feedback

For the group pitch of our music video proposal to the Tchami remix of ‘You Know You Like It’ we received some feedback before we begin the actual process of planning for our music video.
Overall during our pitch it sort of turned into an entire brainstorm session as numerous suggestions of links from one element to the other were made including ideas of how it would be actually filmed using different techniques creating especially for myself quite a lot of excitement for the project.
Regarding the paint, for our second element, we were suggested to research the best types of paint we could use to prevent any chance of injury of our actor/dancer especially avoiding their eyes as the paint will be thrown. Regarding the performer's eyes, we were informed that we could possibly edit her eyes back in after for when we want her eyes to be open especially for close-up shots.
During our pitch, a mention of using the Phantom Alexia for the second element was considered. This expensive proposal to include within our music video will require a learning course and license to operate the camera meaning it might be too ambitious and will require a lot more research into before further planning of our video.

Another element within the paint is how the fluidity of the paint acts when throwing it out of a bucket so we were given the suggestion of carrying out a short experiment using my black magic to film, to start off with water and then later paint over someone to find out the most effective way of throwing it with the right momentum and creating our ideal effect. But, unfortunately, my camera won't create an exact representation of how the paint would look, as the Phantom Alexia camera has its highest frame rate at 3,000fps whereas the Black Magic highest is at only 60fps.
One problem we still have to deliberate on as a group is the location for filming the paint elements as unfortunately, we most likely won't be able to film in the studio as it will create way too much mess without the entire room being wrapped in plastic, so because of this we are currently thinking of an alternative backup setting for this element just in case. Whether if it is just simply a late night shoot outside with a temporarily built set or another location which we can still link with what we have got, is currently one of our main areas at the moment to focus on.
We were given the idea of the component signal within paint colours; green red and blue as it creates a link between all our elements, one possible idea we have, is, to begin with, black and white within the TV’s and then slowly adding colour as the paint splatters.
Our first element (the performance element) with the artist on the numerous TV's was very successful during our pitch as we easily were able to find our way out of possible problems which eventually brought together one solid element. We still though have to think about our final layout and design of our stack of TV's. Regarding the footage on the TV's, we were given the suggestion of filming it live stream as it will hopefully save a lot of time especially as there will be a lot of cables to prepare prior to filming.
Someone also mentioned how the song might be too fast in tempo for the slow motion, but with a rehearsal video, we should be able to determine if this is accurate or not. Since our feedback, we have all allocated ourselves separate tasks. I am going to research into dancers and frame rates.

Overall with our feedback, numerous areas demand to be rethought and compromises need to be made. However, we have still been given an AMBER LIGHT for our overall idea meaning we are hopefully on our way to create a very exciting piece of work.
