James Blake - I Need A Forest Fire
For my second music video idea, I am using the Jake Blake song- 'I Need A Forest Fire'
However, I can potentially see the artists star image surrounding around the idea of technology within music, as within the different layers of sounds within the song, also included are sound effects similar sounding to machinery such as heart monitors or radars creating a very atmospheric nature. I think this creates a unique selling point which I personally haven't seen within an artist and so would be interesting to investigate.
For the main performance element of the video, everything revolves around a pre-built prop. This prop consists of multiple old TV screens together with other old items such as a tape player, a radar or heart monitor and gramophone speaker. This prop will be present in 2 locations out of the 3 as it is one of the main focus point of the video.
On the multiple TV screens is where we will see our artist, with the strong use of harmonies incorporated within the song I feel this will be very effective.
The video will consist of 4 different locations: A forest, A children's playground, A messy boys teen bedroom and the film and TV studio. Apart from the film and TV studio which is to create the footage on the TV screen's the prop is used in 2/3 locations excluding the messy boy's bedroom.
Within the location of the Forest including the 'prop', this will be where we will see the artist for the first time outside of his seen usual habitat. Dressed in a matching tracksuit with his face concealed behind a balaclava he will walk up to the prop towards the end of the video to pour engine oil over it from a red petrol container before setting it alight with a match box and then walking away. This whole possibly finishing section strongly connotes that the artist is getting rid of any evidence of his existence.
The film and TV studio will be used to film the performance element of the artist which will appear on the screens of the TV's, during this, the artist will be playing instruments such as an electronic keyboard and drums. His costume will be very simple, for example, a black t-shirt and trousers as we don't see much of the artist.

Another performance element within the location of the 'Messy Boys Teen Bedroom' will include a male solo dancer dancing in front of a window facing backwards towards the camera. This will hopefully create an eerie silhouette of the dancer to help create the chilling atmosphere.
A potential Dancer I believe would be perfect for this role is a 2015 'So You Think You Can Dance' finalist - Kaine Ward. Below is some videos of Kaine dancing from his Youtube Channel.

As seen from the video above Kaine is an extremely talented freestyle dancer and choreographer, so this added advantage will be extremely helpful within our process.
