iLL BLU ft. JP Cooper - Oceans

For my second initial idea. I have decided to use the 2014 ill Blu song 'Oceans' featuring JP Copper. Unfortunately. this song even though with its current rising stars incorporated within it didn't at the time achieve the recognition I believe it deserved meaning that there is no current music video to accompany this brilliant song. Even though this disadvantage might be proven difficult later on during certain tasks throughout our A2 course I still believe this song would create a stunning and astounding music video.

This idea is based around a prison break, the theme of the colour blue is used throughout the entire music video to stylistically connect to the idea of the 'Ocean'.



 For this music video the lead artist will be a band formed of either 4 or 5 people, including a lead singer, drummer, guitarist and keyboardist. The electronic sound that is included within the song is within the same style of Years and Years who use of similar keyboards and beat pads like the Novation Circuit synths of which are heard in the JP Cooper song.

Within the performance element of the video, there are 5 different locations/sets: A studio set of a simple blue spotlight, A built set of a simple prison cell, a prison pay phone up against a wall, projections of waves which reflect off the band and the location of a forest.

In the studio set of the single blue spotlight, it will focus on a Ballroom, Lyrical styled female dancer connoting her being immersed in water. During this illusion the pay phone element which will be used by the lead singer will be split screened and merged together beside the spotlight.



For the set of the simple prison cell it will feature a flexible male contemporary dancer with skull makeup all over his face and torso, with an old Walkman covering his ears. He will begin his performance facing away from the camera.

The location of the forest will contain the main storyline of the music video. A fugitive will be running from prison guards with flashlights and dogs in the night. He will trip over and fall on a large rock knocking himself out. I believe this will be best to show at the beginning of the video as after he wakes up from his 'flashback' in the prison, he will get back up and start running again.

For the lip sync of the video, the band will have projections imposed on them. I would like to also have water vibrations on the floor and drums as the band are playing. During this element the band will start of dry wearing simple white T-shirts and jeans but will end up drenched in water, possibly aiming their target audience towards teenage girls.
