Looking for Locations

As a group we have been discussing via email our options for our set design and location. We have looked at all different types of options including hotels, B&B's, on sight dormitory bedrooms and even the possibility of building a set in the Film and TV Studio at School.

Below is an Email I personally sent to the members of our group after doing some research on potential off sight destinations which we could use for our 'Thriller'. This B & B pictured below would have been a near perfect choice, because it conveyed all of the ideal aesthetics we wanted to show in our opening scene but from some feedback which we received we were told that this location might not be  appropriate to portray the age of our characters & perhaps would be an unrealistic setting.

Here is the link to the Website for the B&B I referred to in my email above:

If we were to use the Film & TV Studio for our 'Thriller', we would build the set of a simple room.  Some ideas which we brainstormed during a group session included ideas of unattractive looking wallpaper with a brown hard wood floor. The advantages of filming in the studio would be that lighting would be more controlled compared to if we were on location and so would the sound as we wouldn't have to worry about any excess noise that might accidentally be picked up, but the disadvantage is that a lot of time, resources and effort would have to go into making the set and so adding more work into our tight schedule and possibly minimising our filming time.

Above is a mood board I created of potential ideas if we were to build or decorate a set.
